Yoga Equipment
Yoga is a form of exercise that focuses extensively on the relationship between mind and body. It is an eastern practice that has migrated west with the mixing of cultures. It requires little in the way of yoga equipment beyond the practitioner’s body. However there are some items that you can acquire to make your yoga experience better.
Clothing is one aspect that many people don’t stop to think about when mentioning yoga equipment. In fact, your clothing is the single biggest thing you can do to change how a yoga session affects you. If you have clothing that doesn’t permit a free range of movement, then you are limiting yourself. You can purchase garments that are airy to help your movement, or you can get tight-fitting garments that stretch and still give you a full range of movement.
Other yoga equipment includes balls and mats. Not every session will utilize a yoga ball, but some will. Almost any aerobics session, yoga included, will be done on a matted surface. This is done to prevent you from injuring your body during some of the more intricately twisted maneuvers within yoga. You won’t be expected to have your own yoga mat if you’re attending a class, but you may be required to bring your own ball.
